DSC_0002a_1Planet Earth has many interesting aspects and unsolved geographical mysteries. Im sure you can think of a few things in this world that amaze you or make you wonder. Attend the UAA Planetarium Show called Dynamic Earth TONIGHT at 8pm in Anchorage, Alaska.  The show is a full dome program that explores the inner workings of planet Earth’s climate engine. With visualizations based on satellite monitoring data and advanced supercomputer simulations, this cutting-edge production follows a trail of energy that flows from the Sun into the interlocking systems that shape our climate: the atmosphere, oceans, and the biosphere. Be prepared to ride along on swirling ocean and wind currents, dive into the heart of a monster hurricane, come face-to-face with sharks and gigantic whales, and fly into roiling volcanoes!!

The UAA Planetarium and Visualization Theater offers a full-dome experience with an all-digital definite projector system made by Sky-Skan, Inc. Two Sony projectors illuminate the dome with over 12 million pixels, creating a razor-sharp clear image. Talk about big, the dome is 33 feet in diameter. The theatre is set up with 62 seats and three ADA spots.  The projector system can be operated in a live mode, which lets the operator fly you through the Universe in real time. The UAA planetarium also offers full-dome movies on a variety of subjects. In order to view these different movies you must only call the Planetarium for a list of movies and times. Great fun and learning for both family and friends. So come and be AMAZED!!
